I wanted to pay tribute to my love of singing so I decided to take photos of a microphone. I thought I could get some really interesting perspective photos of the microphone and also play around with the long cord to get some out of focus elements in the pictures. This past year, my confidence, independence, and skill have all flourished and my passion has only grown. This specific microphone is a connector to a karaoke speaker that I have so there are super fun, family memories of singing(screaming) into this mic and dancing around. I'm happy with how the pictures came out although I greatly prefer the photo without the filter.
Ham Wild
Bacon Beast
These pictures are of a plush pig my brother gave to me a few years ago. My brother, Jacob, was in the hospital for a surgery to get his adenoid out and I was fairly young and really worried for him. As I was waiting for him to come back changed into a gown, he walked over to me and gave me this little pig. I thought it was the absolute most selfless and sweet thing he could have done. In hindsight, I realize he was also scared(most definitely more than me), but instead of getting a stuffed animal for himself, he gave it to me. I have very fond memories of this little porkers.
Board of the Snow
In a Bind
This is my gorgeous, bright snowboard, which I’m a little bit angry at right now. Last weekend, my family decided to go to Mount Brighton and go skiing/snowboarding. We’ve all been doing snowsports for our whole lives and we were very excited to go. About an hour into snowboarding, I caught an edge and face planted, smashing my ribs into the snow. I’m sure this will be a comical memory in a couple weeks when I’m not so sore. Nonetheless, I'm sure I’ll be back out there to do it all over again as soon as I can!
Tune Up
Fingerpickin’ Good
This is my capo which is a clip that goes on a guitar to tune it higher without actually touching the tuning of the strings. I’ve been playing the guitar for about three years now and even though I’m not the greatest at it, I absolutely adore playing. Recently, I’ve been branching out and writing some original songs which can be frustrating, but also very rewarding. Mostly though, I love to just play the songs I love most and let the outside world melt away. It always amazes me how elsewhere I can be while still singing and playing. It is truly a beautiful meditation.
Stringing Me Along
Don't Fret
This is the newest addition to my family, a 12-string guitar. I wanted to have a new challenge to conquer and this instrument was the perfect choice. I’ve been playing the same guitar for a few years and although I love my 6-string, I felt like I needed something new. Lately I’ve really been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and be the most adventurous, forward-thinking person I can be. This more advanced guitar is granting me the ability to push myself even further. This guitar also means a lot to me as my grandparents got it for me to show their support of my passion in the arts.
